I usually have GPS/location, and Map apps like Google Maps turned off on my smartphone/tablets to help save battery power on my smartphone, tablet, and laptops, so I can use them longer without charging. I think turning GPS/Location, and Map apps like Google Maps off can make my phone, tablet, and PC run better by using less RAM, CPU, and storage space when I uninstalled or disabled the Map apps in the App settings section.

yep and to keep my self from being tracked.

I feel turning off GPS may keep some computers more secure since there is always a chance that the GPS chip, driver software, and firmware contains a security problem which may increase the risk of a hacker or virus infecting my device when the GPS is ON.

I don't usually turn them on unless I need something. They drain my battery like crazy and not to mention that there is always a risk of getting tracked and such.
