Next handheld console......

Yeah. I much prefer the games on my 3DS as opposed to playing a game on my smart phone. I use my smart phone for other things besides gaming. That's what my 3DS is for. Besides, the games that you can get on a smart phone are garbage compared to what you can get for the 3DS, in my opinion.
 
I think there maybe a cheaper 2DS or 3DS console which only comes with one screen at the bottom, and you need to plug the handheld into a TV or portable battery powered monitor or tablet/smartphone screen to play handheld games.

To me, that just defeats the purpose of the handhelds if you have to plug them in. I understand having to hook them up to charge them but if you have to hook them up to play them then they are no different than a home based console at that point.

Nintendo can make a secondary mobile screen adapter with a battery to attach to a 3DS without a screen for people who need to use their handheld for mobile gaming. There are some gamers who want to play 3DS games on a larger TV screen.

I feel the Playstation TV/Vita TV failed because there were not many good games for it compared to the 3DS. The PSP Vita was unpopular compared to the 3DS and mobile gaming because it failed to attract enough gamers because of a lack of quality games, and the higher price tag for a Vita.

The Playstaion TV and Vita was also poorly advertised. There were not a lot of TV, magazine, and online ads for the Playstaion TV and Vita compared to other consoles like the PS3, PS4, Wii, and Xbox 360.

Naw, it died because there was no games to support either the Vita or this. I personally want to get one but there is just not enough games to justify me getting it.


And to answer this topic finally, I guess the answer is New 2DS.

I may of gotten the Playstation TV if it had more titles like Kingdom Hearts, Final Fantasy, and Classic console games from the 90s, and early 2000s. The Playstation TV may of done well if it came pre-loaded with a lot of games, or Sony included a Memory card which has a lot of games on it, and cost under $100 like $60.

Other mini consoles like the Ouya and Madcatz Mojo which were released at the same time were cooler, so some people may rather buy the Ouya or Mojo instead of Playstation TV.

The $99 Ouya was also cooler at the time because it promised a lot of indie/independent games, classic games, Android games, and Android emulators for classic consoles like the N64, PSX, SNES, Nintendo, and classic games. At least, the Ouya came with a controller, 8GB of storage space, and expandable storage by plugging in a USB drive.

Unfortunately, the Ouya staff did not do enough to make the Ouya a good alternative console, and the creators of the Ouya choose to sell the Ouya brand to Razer, and sell Ouya games on Chinese Android consoles.

I think the Playstation TV and Vita uses most of the same controller buttons, directional pad, and joystick as the original Playstation 1, 2, and 3 console controllers except the Vita has a touchpad at the bottom of the controller, and the Vita's screen is a touchscreen.

I'm sure if Sony wanted to, they can make a controller with a front touchscreen, and touchpad for the Playstation TV, so all or most Vita games work on the Playstation TV. The Wii U tablet controller had a front touchscreen, so I think Sony can make a similar tablet controller for the Playstation TV instead of using the PS3 controller.

I also found it disappointing that the most basic Playstation TV model does not come with a controller or memory card to store more game saves, and digital games, so if you don't own a PS3, or Memory card from a Vita, you need to buy a controller, and
8GB Sony memory stick.

Buyers might as well buy the Sony PS3 Super Slim, Wii Mini, Xbox 360 Arcade, Ouya, etc if they also need to buy a controller, Sony memory stick for their Playstation TV.

I looked through the list of Vita games on List of PlayStation Vita games (A–L) - Wikipedia , and most Vita games are compatible for the Playstation TV except for a small percentage of games. Some of the non-Playstation TV compatible games are digital-only games made by smaller game companies, casual games, and mobile-only games like Asphalt and Fruit Ninja where you can only buy them on PSN/online.

There were also not a lot of games which interest me on the regular PSP Vita handheld since there were not a lot of Final Fantasy, Kingdom hearts, and other big RPG games. I think people who do not want a Vita because it does not have as many big title games would not want to get the Playstaion TV.

The PS TV was missing some heavy hitters like Gravity Rush, Tearaway, and Uncharted: Golden Abyss. I wouldn't say they made great use of the Vita though, I found most things using the touchscreen, microphone, etc to be gimmicky.

That would be both interesting and horrifying. Like, you go under water and the system sprays water in your face. Or you get electrocuted and you feel a small shock.

Yeah, you're probably right. It's one of those situations that end up on the news because someone screwed up. I think they even proposed this idea on a Japanese game show. Nintendo probably doesn't want to give people nightmares.
 
Has anyone seen the new Galaxy 3DS? I saw one at Wal-Mart today. It's an XL and they wanted $200 for it. I'm happy with mine so I probably won't get one.
