The Ukraine Crisis

Russian President Vladimir Putin is "seriously ill" and it is an "element" of what is happening in Ukraine, said a former British spy. "It's not clear exactly what this illness is - whether it's incurable or terminal, or whatever. But certainly, I think it's part of the equation," he said.

Christopher Steele, who wrote a dossier on Donald Trump and alleged Russian interference in the 2016 US election campaign, told Sky News: "Certainly, from what we're hearing from sources in Russia and elsewhere, is that Putin is, in fact, quite seriously ill."

Meanwhile, an oligarch with close ties to the Russian leader has reportedly been recorded as saying "Putin is very ill with blood cancer".
Being ill can also mean a sign of desperation, but yeah one guy in charge of many who hasn't taken care of most of his people as much as in other countries doing. It's sad.

I thought it was confirmed long before this conflict he did have the cancer? The whole entire drive of this was just so he could go out in a blaze of glory?
Yes but we didn't really know what the illness was specifically until recently I believe.

Read this from tweaktown and newsweek:

The new report from the publication points out that at least seven of the Russian oligarchs have died of strange circumstances throughout 2022, and while there are few links between the deaths of each of the individuals, there are two noticeable commonalities. All of the seven oligarchs didn't publicly oppose Russia's President Vladimir Putin, the war in Ukraine, or receive any sanctions that were imposed on many Russian oligarchs following the invasion that began on February 24.

Notably, only one of the Russian oligarchs died before the Russian/Ukraine war began, and his death was less than a month from the commencement date. Leonid Shulman, who was the head of transport at Gazprom Invest, reportedly committed suicide in a cottage bathroom in Russia's Leningrad region on January 30.

The other oligarchs that were found dead under mysterious circumstances were Alexander Tyulyakov, a high official at Gazprom, and the Deputy General Director of the Unified Settlement Center (UCC) for Corporate Security. Mikhail Watford, a Ukrainian-born businessman who made a fortune in oil and investing. Watford was found dead in his home only days after the invasion began, February 28.

Furthermore, Sergey Protosenya, a gas oligarch, and Vladislav Avayev, Gazprombank vice president and former Russian official, were both found dead only a day apart on April 19 and April 20. Lastly, oligarchs Alexander Subbotin and Vasily Melnikov were found deceased on March 24 and May 8.

Regardless of the true reasons why these Russian oligarchs have died, it seems quite clear that there is some level of motivation behind their demise. Whether that motivation has come all the way from Putin, from below him, or even allied forces, someone, somewhere has a problem with select Russian oligarchs, and before the Ukrainian war is declared over, I think it would be safe to assume that more of these mysterious discoveries will be made.

Yeah I saw that last week, interesting. If true, he's more dangerous than we know.

The war has crossed 100 days, thousands of people have died, and property worth billions of dollars lost. I don't think the war will stop until Putin dies or Ukraine crumbles to rubbles. The second option looks distant.

A $300 million superyacht known as the Amadea has been spotted cruising into Hawaii flying the American flag after being seized by US authorities.

US authorities seized the Amadea after a month-long legal battle in Fiji over its ownership, where the US claimed that sanctioned Russian oligarch Suleyman Kerimov was the true owner of the vessel. Kerimov, a Russian billionaire, oligarch, and politician, has close ties with Russian President Vladimir Putin and has following the nation's invasion of Ukraine, Kerimov and many other Russian oligarchs were slapped with sanctions from the United States and other countries that followed.

As a result of the sanctions, assets such as the Amadea are being seized by US authorities. In Kerimov's instance, his sanctions stretch back to 2018 over his involvement in Russia's invasion of Crimea. Joe Biden's national security advisor was recorded saying on Thursday this week that when a vessel like this is seized, the federal government are the ones paying for its upkeep, which means that some people are being paid to maintain the luxurious Russian superyachts "on behalf of the United States government".

Just sink it. I have no time for this type of bartering.

Vladimir Putin vows to deploy Satan 2 nukes by end of year as Russia threatens NATO

The Sarmat intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) was designed to replace the nation's Voyevoda ICBMs, known by NATO as the SS-18 Satan. The Satan II can carry up to 15 MIRV (Multiple Independently-targetable Reentry Vehicles) nuclear warheads while traveling at hypersonic speeds exceeding five times the speed of sound. At Mach 5, a roughly 7,800 mile (12553 kilometers) flight from Moscow to the White House in the United States would take about two hours.

Aleksy Zhuravlyov, the deputy chairman of Russia's defense committee, claimed that the Sarmat could strike the United Kingdom in only 200 seconds if launched from Kaliningrad and noted they could strike Finland from Siberia. He also claimed that "there is no existing air defence for the Sarmat missile systems, and it will probably not exist in the coming decades."

"We have successfully tested the Sarmat heavy intercontinental ballistic missile. According to the plan, the first such system will enter combat duty at the end of the year," said Russian President Vladimir Putin, as reported Russian news outlet RT.

"If the United States threatens our state, it's good: here is the Sarmat for you, and there will be nuclear ashes from you if you think that Russia should not exist. And Finland says that it is at one with the USA. Well, get in line," said Zhuravlyov.
