Saw new Trailer:

The F/A - 18 Hornet is fine with rough stick handling like what Maverick did in the trailer above, but if that was a F -14 Tomcat he would have stalled in no time as the the F-14 Tomcat is a temperamental girl lol.

Director said movie has 800 hours of shot footage

Director Joseph Kosinski revealed that the highly-anticipated sequel to the iconic 80s blockbuster ended up shooting hundreds of hours of footage. "Out of a 12- or 14-hour day, you might get 30 seconds of good footage," said Kosinski. "But it was so hard-earned. It just took a very long time to get it all. Months and months of aerial shooting. We shot as much footage as the three Lord Of The Rings movies combined. I think it was 800 hours of footage."

Star Tom Cruise explained that the challenge of shooting Maverick wasn't just in capturing the external shots of the jets but the internal clips of the pilots flying the deadly planes. "We had to teach the actors about lighting, about cinematography, about editing," Cruise said. "I had to teach them how to turn the cameras on and off, and about camera angles and lenses. We didn’t have unlimited time in these jets. If they were going up for 20-30 minutes, I had to make sure that we got what we needed."

Early reactions were good, read from NME:

Top Gun: Maverick has received overwhelmingly positive reactions following its first screening.

The sequel, set to be screened at Cannes Film Festival next month, debuted at CinemaCon in Las Vegas on Thursday (April 28) ahead of its release on May 27.

Tom Cruise, who reprises his role as Captain Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell from the 1986 original, wasn’t in attendance but sent a pre-recorded video message to the screening. In the clip, Cruise said: “Please enjoy, and, hey, let’s try to have a great summer!”

Read this tweet, wonder if this movie will make The F/A - 18 Hornet famous like what the first movie did to the F-14 Tomcat lol, the first Top Gun Movie caused heavy spikes on the number of people wanting to become fighter pilots in the Navy to fly The F-14 Tomcat lol
