I feel it is unlikely that Nintendo hire a tablet maker like Samsung to make a Nintendo branded gaming tablet in the future.
But, if Nintendo needs to save money in the future, it might be more affordable to hire a tablet maker like Samsung to design and build a Nintendo branded gaming tablet.
Google, Barnes and Noble, and other big companies hire tablet makers like Samsung to make their tablets and smartphones in the past. I think companies like Samsung are good at making decent tablets which are under $300, but are good enough to use for most users.
Amazon Fire tablets which cost $50 and more are made by Quanta computers which is a computer maker from Taiwan according to Kindle Fire - Wikipedia
Most likely, Amazon hired Quanta computers to build the Fire tablets to keep the price of the Amazon Fire affordable at $50 while being good to use for most tasks like watching video, web browsing, and mobile games.
