will the new Zelda for 3ds in realistic mode or toon link? what you prefer?

What's with all the Toon Link hate?
I love the style of Wind Waker! It's so...FUN! :D I think Zelda needs some kind of style. It doesn't necessarily have to be a cell shaded toony style in every game but at least some kind of style.
There's nothing I hate more in video games than realism. It's really uninspired to make a game that looks like the real world. I play games to get away from that. Frankly there are some games where realism works but I don't feel like Zelda is one of them.
Detailed? Yes! Polished? Yes! Realistic? Not necessarily.

I didn't like the style of Twilight Princess. Everything felt so dull and empty. No colors, no joy...It always felt like Hyrule was already taken over by evil.
Don't get me wrong, a game that can make you feel creeped out, depressed and lonely can be a good thing (like Majora's Mask) but I just didn't like that the whole game was like that. Well...at least there was the Malo Mart. :3

I think Ocarina of Time is a good balance between sylized and realistic. At least it had colors. :U
Skyward Sword also looked great...well...except for the blurry textures.

I didn't love the DS ones either. Well, I liked them, I just didn't love them. But not because of the style but rather because of the gameplay.

I wish there was another game that plays like Minish Cap, A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening.
One that you control with buttons, not with the touchpen. One that uses hand-drawn graphics as opposed to 3D graphic.

I hate Toon Link for many reasons.

1. I can't stand 3 out of 3 games he was in.

2. He's freaky looking and I hate him.

3. He replaced Young LInk in Brawl.

Phantom Hourglass was my first game.

Ok, well I honestly think it's the worst Zelda game ever. We have our opinions. It's just that every game that Toon Link is in I can't stand. Wind Waker, Phantom Hourglass, and Spirit Tracks are my top 3 least favorite Zelda games meaning they rank the lowest in my favorites list.

It's not my favorite. Least favorite, I think, is Zelda 2.

I honestly think Wind Waker was fun. People complain about the sailing, saying it takes too long but I disagree. Maybe we all just need to work on our patience.
And Wind Waker is one of those games that can teach you patience. ^^
I like Toon Link for actually having character. ^^ Well in Wind Waker at least.

Okay...

Well... I hated everything about it. I hated the sailing, I hated the story of it, I hated graphics, I hated the... Triforce quest. *Deep breath.* Ugh.

what did you not like about it? Admittedly, the reason I like it so much is probably because it was my first DS game, but that doesn't stop Linebeck from being one of my favourite characters from the series.

The game is way too easy for one. Two the game has a lot of back tracking making the game less fun. Finally
it was all a dream. If there is one thing I can't stand, it's when a game is a dream. I feel like I did nothing through the whole game. Which is why Mario 2 isn't my favorite and it goes for movies as well.

Didn't you love Link's Awakening though? That had the same spoiler info there lol I hated everything about Phantom Hourglass in looks and controls to the point I never even was interested enough to beat the dungeon after the one I got the boomerang in. lol

I hope they don't do another friggin toon unless it is REAL old-school style and top-down. But no more cell shading.. I hate looking at the cell shading ones. Minish Cap looked nice, in my opinion, but Wind Waker and the DS games looked like total crap and made me feel like the art was done by a high school student. If they do cell shading it better be like Borderlands in detail.

I agree with Nin3DS fully though and think they will do it in OoT's graphical style. They already have the engine there, for one, and as he said, it fits with the 3D effect. Personally though, I'd like to see them bring back the sprite look. Even if they did it in CG, make it look somewhat like Link to the Past, in a manner they did with trying to blend OoT and Link to the Past with how they made Minish Cap's look. Also, with Capcom's recent decline at accelerated speeds in quality as well as gameplay... let them sit the next one out and make it entirely first party, please.

I haven't beaten Link's Awakening so I can't judge yet. I'm still trying to work on it...

You're going to get pissed at the ending then lol. Which version do you have? The DX on the virtual console or an actual copy? If you have the actual DX you can use a gameboy printer to print pictures of you and Malon on a date-ish. lol I own both the non-DX and the DX and am planning on getting the VC one just to show my support and endorse it as it is one of my favorite Zeldas.

I borrowed a physical copy, but uh... I need to give it back soon and... I'll have to... ya know...

I loved Link's Awakening. The characters were very creative.

i don't hate the toon link but the ds games were very much fun but the style in aerea camera i didn't like it so much, so i prefer the toon link like wind waker but i prefer the next game be the OOT style

hate toon link sorry shy guy. hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate hate HATE that style it looked like broken paper mashed into a bad art form. there's parts of them three games I liked and some I hated sure... but the art form GAH I don't like games on newer systems that look more broken then PS1 early graphics like ff7 and the blockeyness and many broken sprites...

As long as we don't get another grim & gritty, dull & dark, lonely & lifeless Zelda like Twilight Princess I'm okay with every style.

yeah but wasn't that really what they were going for ? kinda like a darkness had taken over i agree it was a little TO dark for a Zelda game but besides being FORCED to be the clunky controlled wolf, i liked that darker look for once XD but like you said once is enough lol.

Making the world feel sad, dull and lifeless when it's taken over by twilight was ok. It needed to be like that. But the thing is that even the normal world which was supposed to feel alive.....just felt sort of lonely and depressed.
