Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth

Kitase said this :

“We do hear a lot of players' different conjectures, saying, ‘Oh, how much will this story change from the original?’ Kitase said. “And I do want to comment that I don't think that's how it will be. We've always kept the original in mind, and I don't think it's going to be a storyline that will betray the fans of the original [game].”

“But also, at the same time, [it's] been 27 years since the release of the original Final Fantasy VII. There are these things that we feel we can only do now in the remake project that can bring a new happiness, a new sort of feeling of satisfaction to the players playing this game now 27 years later.”

so "a new happiness, a new sort of feeling of satisfaction to the players" means a Hawt uncensored Tifa Under the Highwind PLOT scene lol

probably making Final Fantasy 17? or helping the FF 9 remake team?

Se announced FF franchise has sold more than 195 million copies up 10 million copies since last year.

So Rebirth is currently at 4.5 to 5 million copies sold or could be more I'd say, Rebirth is the only recently released FF title, assuming FF 16 and pixel remaster combined sold another 5 million copies since they were released. FF 16 and pixel remaster sold around 3.5 + 3 = 6.5 million copies the last time they announced it last September with total FF franchise sold back in Sep 30 2023 announcement, which was 185M.

Huh, I feel like the number should be bigger, specially with DQ close behind.

Yeah I gave the latest estimation for FF 16 too high, given it's not even selling that good on Pc at 50 bucks. Rebirth still pops up in the top 10 of amazon best selling ps5 game from time to time quite often too, not to mention in the top 10 most wished ps5 game on amazon too. Unlike FF 16, even at a heavily discounted price on amazon.

FF 7's numbers will triple across the board once all three parts are out.

Read from noisy pixel:

Yoshinori Kitase and Naoki Hamaguchi attended a seminar at the Korean event G-Star 2024, during which the duo explained the challenges the team has had with the Final Fantasy VII Remake project.

Many facets surrounding these games were discussed, though it was also confirmed that the plot for this trilogy’s third and final entry has been completed, and the concepts have been decided. In fact, the development team is already working on the title, though details were not shared.

Still, Hamagauchi emphasizes the use of the Highwind, claiming that they aim to let players fly freely around the world map.

Read from Siliconera:

When asked about the decision to depict Cloud and Tifa kissing for the first time in the 27 years since the original Final Fantasy VII released, Hamaguchi said that was a clear intention when designing the scene. When connecting the events of FFVII Remake and FFVII Rebirth during development, the team wanted to show Cloud’s growth and discussed if they should build upon the scene from the first entry in the trilogy.

Wait, so they kissed in the recent game? If so then....

lol they did. So by the director's logic of Cloud's growth means come under the highwind time should be a really PLOT worthy scene with Tifa's PLOT lol
