How long it takes to beat Tales of Arise?

One fan asked Yusuke Tomizawa how long is Tales of Arise. Here’s his answer.

Yusuke Tomizawa: “Needless to say it’ll depend on your playstyle. But overall, I can say it’ll be around the same length as Tales of Berseria. Of course, the game will have a lot of side content and replayability for second runs as well.”

Tales of Berseria had an acceptable amount of side-content, so this is reassuring for Arise. One thing I was worried about was the development team focusing all its efforts on the main story, ending up with a barebones game outside its main scenario.

Will Tales of Arise get a story DLC, a prequel or a sequel?

Next, one fan, who was definitely referencing the Tales of Zestiria Alisha controversy and DLC, asked if Tales of Arise‘s story will actually be completed without having to buy DLC. Another fan similarly asked whether Arise will get an additional game to fully complete its storylines, similarly to Tales of Xilia 1 and 2, or Tales of Zestiria and Berseria.

Yusuke Tomizawa: “The story of Tales of Arise resolves itself in the game. We do have DLC content like in the Limited Edition, but all the story is in the base game. I guarantee it. Moreover, Arise is fundamentally a stand-alone game. We don’t plan to link it with another game, and it will conclude itself in this one game. There will be Tales of Arise collaboration content in the crossover mobile games, but it’ll be completely unrelated to the main game. Even if you don’t play the mobile games you’ll still be able to enjoy Tales of Arise.”

Tales of Arise ending spoiler

Lastly, one fan asked the most straightforward question you could ever ask, whether the ending of Tales of Arise is a happy ending or a bad ending. To be fair, that’s a valid concern seeing the game starts with some pretty grim stakes. Protagonist Alphen and co are fighting against slavery and discrimination. Heroine Shionne is cursed to inflict pain on anyone she touches, etc.

Yusuke Tomizawa answered: “Well, I don’t want to spoil, but ever since the planning phase of Tales of Arise, we decided from the start it’ll be a game that leaves you with a good aftertaste once you’ve completed it. That’s the kind of game it’ll be. I can’t tell you anything else. As for how the game will reach that good aftertaste, and how it’ll taste like, you’ll have to play it to find out”.

Read this fan story prediction lol the last point

-Shionne discover something something about the elemental orbs. She ran to Dahna to find the orbs that are there.

-The first area she visits is ruled by Balseph. In this area the Rehna FEDS are after her because she is from royal blood or something related to her curse.

-Shionne is captured, while she is transported by train, Alphen and Zephyr group ambush the train to get resources/free slaves etc. They find Shionne.

-A Rehna FED or or Dahna freedom fighter try to touch her and get zapped. The freedom fighters recognize this as a Astral Art so they capture her thinking she might be a spy or just because she is from Rehna.

-Shionne explain briefly why elemental orbs+bad guys = bad and convince Alphen and the group to aid her. While looting the remains of the train cargo she find her dress and Alphen the love of her life.

-They go after the elemental orb. Balseph go after them and after a fight he lose to them. He tried to reach the orb but for some reason he can't use it properly and he transforms into the big fire monster from the trailers.

-Shionne can unleash the orb power but can't use it. So it comes Alphen with his lack of pain and transform the orb with help of Shionne into the Blaze Sword.

-With the power of the Sword they defeat and absorve Balseph monstrous form and with the surge of energy Alphen mask break and reveal his face. Shionne find the love of her life(''finally some MAN that can touch me, mom'' quoting Zaigou here hahaha)
