Read from tweaktown on Ps5 Pro:

According to a new report from Insider Gaming's Tom Henderson, Sony is ramping up the production of PS5 Pro devkits to introduce developers to the new hardware. The final retail PlayStation 5 Pro is expected to launch in 2024, and Sony is arming its teams with the upgraded consoles in an effort to push their first-party games beyond the current capabilities of the PS5, however PS5 Pro specifications and performance targets for upgraded games remains unclear.

Sources have told Henderson that first-party developers will get the PS5 Pro devkits many months before third-party devs, the latter of whom are expected to receive the units by the end of 2023.

If they really are getting the devkits right now, I don't think that would be really enough time for market prepare games.

Price drop coming?

Read from tweaktown:

A price cut would be welcome, and it might just be making way for the rumored revamp of the PS5 - though that refresh won't be a PS5 Slim, we're assured.

If this is true, the reasoning that springs to mind for some folks - and it's an obvious enough line of speculation - is that Sony wants to shift some more stock before the next incarnation of the PS5 turns up. And this long-rumored refreshed model is something a second piece of speculation has just popped up around.

The first rumor comes from billbil_kun on Twitter, and as you can see above, it's a slightly cryptic tweet, translating to 'watch out for a PS5 price drop in the US and UK/Germany [Europe] soon.'

We've got no idea what size this price drop might be, but if the idea is to clear stock, we can assume it's going to be fairly hefty. Fingers crossed and all that.

Indeed.

Latest Playsation 5 pro spec leak:

Kepler also notes that AMD's AI architecture XDNA2 will not be used in Viola. That being said, the current PlayStation 5 does have machine learning capabilities and developers have already used PS5's ML for projects like Spider-Man Miles Morales.

This small error is believed to jeopardize the veracity of the spec leak, however Kepler admits that they are unsure about the exact node that Project Trinity will use--the report says N4P, which is part of the 5nm family (the original PS5 uses N7).

After consulting with Kepler and others in the tech community, Videocardz has released an updated spec sheet for the PlayStation 5 Pro:

PlayStation 5 Pro aka "Project Trinity" rumored specs
SoC - Viola
CPU - 8-core AMD Zen 2 @4.4GHz
GPU - 30WGP/60CU AMD RDNA GPU
RAM - 16GB GDDR6 18Gbps (576GB/sec)

No idea if ai will go for a Pro version, to be honest. Hopefully there will be a decent trade in offer

I wont be going for the Pro, the one I have is good enough.

Read from verge and tweaktown on ps5 games with "Enhanced" label :

It has been told by sources familiar with Sony's plans that developers are being informed by the company to create a new PS5 Pro-exclusive graphics mode in games that combines Sony's new PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) upscaling to 4K resolution with a 60fps frame rate and ray-tracing effects.

So, what qualifies as an "Enhanced" PS5 game? Firstly, 30FPS games can still meet the criteria for an "Enhanced" label, as developers will have the option of increasing target resolution for PS5 Pro games that run in a fixed resolution on PS5, or increasing the target maximum resolution for games that run at a variable resolution on PS5.

This means that games that run between 1080p and 1440p at 30FPS on the standard PS5 and 1280p and 2160p on the PS5 Pro at 30FPS will meet the criteria for an "Enhanced" label. Additionally, the publication reports that a fixed resolution increase from 1440p to 2160p would also meet the criteria. Furthermore, developers that choose to implement ray-tracing effects and don't increase resolution or framerate will also reach the "Enhanced" label. The same goes for developers that only want to increase framerate from 30FPS to 60FPS.

Shoot me now 30fps and upscaled games. I thought games were going to be native 4k and 60fps.

Think they did the same for PS4 pro and very few games actually did it.
