But Japanese ads aren't always as entertaining, it's actually less common than you might think.
Though quite understandable people overseas think otherwise, as they usually only get to see the more entertaining Japanese ads outside of Japan.

Yesterday I asked for hot coffee (ホットコーヒー) at the nearest 7-11 store, and neither of the clerks understood what I meant.
I literally had to type it out on my phone for them to understand it. (´-﹏-`；)
