NOU.

I wouldn't play TLOZ if Link was a girl 'cause... well, everything would be okay until (dun dun dun) she acted all cutesy towards the prince Zelda (sounds weird enough).

Also, a silent girl protagonist? that sounds weirds tbh.

Samus.

You only say Samus if you have never played the GBA games or Metroid Other M. She does not shut up in Other M.

I have, but I mostly remembered the older games, where she didn't speak at all.

Oh, Other M...
The game that makes people call the japanese sexist. Hoh boy.

What the...?

Yeah, heaven forbid that Samus show emotion like an actual person. I mean, I felt she was stronger than that internally, but it went really far to make her whiny and emotional. Despite that, it isn't a far cry from Zero Mission's opening and Fusion where she discusses her past with regret.

Fusion's regretness.

I don't wanna argue about her character in Other M...
...but you gotta admit, not using a life saving fire protection suit in a fire area just because she's not authorised to use it (and risking her life in the process) is pretty stupid. Not by Samus but by the people who made the game. Her having to find the equipment like in the other games at least made a bit of sense. She can't use it cuz she doesn't have it.

...what kind of orders are those anyways? Don't use certain protections? That's like saying don't use a lifejacket on a sinking ship until the captain tells you to do so.

Or is there some kind of important piece of information that I missed which explains the whole situation? (Cuz I haven't played the game.)

That was exactly what *I* said! I was like "okay, I can understand the freeze ray and wave beam and explosives because your primary objective is rescue people. Freeze Ray could be destroying evidence or wave beam could be shooting through a wall and possibly killing a person, and explosives are a sordid story. But WHY would you NOT use Varia, Space Jump, Screw Attack, Grapple, or Speed Boost? That makes NO sense! Hell! Space Jump doesn't even "climb" like it does in other games.

And no, the game is great though and if you have a Wii it is under $4 at GameStop. And to answer your question, she has a temporary commander for the mission who says "Samus, until I authorize it you are not to use your weapons" And my immediate thought was "Cool, so I should have Varia, Gravity, and all that then, right?" Nope! Apparently Morph Ball is not a weapon but Varia is! Also, Varia and Gravity do not change her physical appearance as they do in other games.

I was actually thinking of this bro.. you shoulda done a little all wordplay like you did with Ocarina of Time of the Month. Like "Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Figure" "A Link to the Past Boyfriends" "Link's Rude Awakening" LOL You got my head thinking about it now, bro... lol

And back on topic... How does anyone complain about this:?

Seriously... *I* have no complaints... I mean it is better than, THIS:

(To be fair though, they all did great jobs and I love that last cosplay) but I mean graphically I'd rather see a female Link than the Wind Waker style (I can't stand that art style, personally). However, a female Link *IN* the Wind Waker style would be a nightmare.

If Samus isn't silent there's always Chell from Portal! ^^ I mean, in Portal 2 she is asked to say apple, she does not and simply jumps >.>

Personally I'd like a Zelda game where the protagonist is female, I mean they could either make it lesbians (which will probably cause uproar) with Link and Zelda, or they could just make this female Link best friends with Zelda ending up with Zelda being kidnapped as per :3

how about a plot twist of sorts... have the protagonist be female and Zelda's sister? The question there, however, would be "would both Princesses share the name Zelda?" I mean, considering Hyrule Historia states that while she was not the first Princess Zelda in the history of Hyrule, the Princess in Zelda 2 was the first in a long line of princesses to be named Zelda by law by her brother, the Prince of Hyrule at the time.He was partly to blame for her comatose state, and in honor of his sister, decreed every princess born in to the Royal Family of Hyrule to be named Zelda.

I think you have the creator of Zelda confused with the head animator of Lunar series games (He is known for having a mandatory bathing scene of his female characters in all of his games). ;)

Having two Princess Zelda characters might be a bit complicated to deal with... Bearing in mind most people (if this did happen) would end up kidnapping both of them if possibly... BUT! It could work if let's say the protagonist Zelda manages to break free thus starting the adventure! ^^

I don't understand... In that bottom picture, who is that meant to be? >.> (the person left of Link) xDD It looks like a man, dressed as a woman and confused.

I think it would be really cool to see Link as a female in a game. One, it would break a stereotype of the female main character being the "damsel in distress" and replace the lead female as the protagonist who saves the world. Secondly, it could be a step in the right direction towards equality in the gaming sense too, if they kept Zelda the love interest of Link. She COULD be silent, strong, and protective. And like Samus, a powerful adversary to the forces of evil. I mean, it doesn't all have to be "Oh, (female) Link has to be cutesy and bubbly." Plus, even rougish females can be sexy too. :3 I'm bi, and personally, I love the idea of either a male or female Link. I think it would bring a whole new perspective to the LoZ games.

Honestly i don't like the idea much, as changing Links gender would be like changing Marios gender. Have you ever seen a girl plumber? lol.
But Zelda games are always going to be about Link saving the land and most times Zelda too.
It can't be changed.
But on the other hand i wouldn't mind playing as Zelda to save Link. Very Similar to how Peach saves Mario in Super Princess Peach.
Apart from that.
NO from me in my opinion.
